Some flyers and pictures from of our NRMCC Maverick Comet Breakfasts and Lunches. Just a casual get together with fans of Mavericks and Comets, some war stories and good food. A nice break during the Winter months when your car is sleeping in a nice heated storage garage......... or not.
Here are pictures from the NRMCC Spring MavCom Breakfast at Denny's on April 24, 2016. Enjoy.
I was thrilled when another car showed up,as i always say, if you have 'em you might as well drive 'em!
A special thank you to our host Larry Winter for planning another MavCom Breakfast. Always nice to see everyone after a long Winter. :)
Two more Comets showed up for the MavCom Breakfast, both beautiful 68's. Always nice to see the big Comets.
I didn't know that Hyundai now makes Mavericks. I guess this turned into a MavCom Breakfast mini meet.
After a good breakfast it was time to head out and start the cruising season.
Here is a quick video from the event, enjoy!
A thank you to all who came out for the NRMCC MavCom Breakfast and a special thank you to all who brought out their cars for the event!
Here are some pictures from our most recent NRMCC MavCom breakfast from Sunday April 2nd, 2017 in Burlington / Oakville. It was great to see some old faces that have not been around for awhile as well as the regular guys. A special thank you to all who brought out their Comets and Mavericks for breakfast in early April. Thanks to our host Larry Winter for getting everyone together, your the man!
These are the pictures of our breakfast and mini meet at Denny's, enjoy!
Here is Larry Winter getting a framed version of the MavCom breakfast flyer featuring his Maverick jammed into a burger, ready to hang in the garage (or the closet). Isn't fine art a beautiful thing!
After a great breakfast with the boys, out to the parking lot we went to look at the cars and catch up after a long winter. And it turned out to be a nice warm early spring day perfect for a Maverick Comet mini meet.
Here Larry is pointing out that his Maverick came with a windshield too! :)
Thanks for treating me to breakfast Larry, i owe you one buddy.
So nice to see Larry's beautiful Maverick back on the road again, it can't look much better than this and the stance on this Maverick hits all the right notes. And how 'bout that Grabber hood to complete the look, stunning!
They'll let anything into these shows....... so next time," bring out yer cars"!!!!
Here's a great reason to build yourself a four door and bring it out to the Meet and Greet or the MavCom breakfast. All Comets and Mavericks are welcome. Thanks Jay for bringing out your very cool four door!
I think we my have some Mustang owners who have slid in under the radar....... oh sorry it's only 240Gordie and California Dave.
One last look at the Mavericks as they head home. Thanks for coming out and a special thank you for bringing out your cars to the MavCom breakfast.
Your truly after eating 5 grand slams, seeing some Mavericks and Comets and hearing a few war stories as told by the guys, happily driving my Comet home. See you at the next MavCom breakfast and bring on Spring!
A quick video of our MavCom breakfast and mini meet.
Thanks to all who came out to our MavCom breakfast at Denny's in Burlington/ Oakville. We had a great turnout of people and a great turnout of cars too. That is an amazing thing in Southern Ontario at the near end of October. A special thank you to all those who brought out yer cars. Here for your viewing pleasure are pictures from the MavCom breakfast. Enjoy.
The start of our trip to the MavCom breakfast was a stop at the sandwich light. Why do we call it the sandwich light you ask...... because the light is a five minute light and in the time it takes to do a cycle you can literally make a sandwich, of course on this occasion i got out of my car and took this picture because i knew i had all the time in the world to take the picture.
Getting a little gas for the trip to Burlington. By the way that sure is a nice '57 Chevy. I don't think he was to interested in coming to our breakfast. :)
This sorta looks like were driving in the far North in extreme cold weather. Got to admit the picture looks pretty cool with the low hung sun.
The arrival of the Comets and Mavericks. We had 5 cars, not too bad for an Oct 22 MavCom breakfast in Southern Ontario.
We parked the cars and went in for a little breakfast at Denny's.
After having 5 Grand Slams it was time to wash it down with a Diet Coke. What?
Look at me, i'm on the interwebs.
Next we went outside to look at the Mavericks and Comets and tell some war stories. It was nice to see everyone before the Christmas machine starts up for another year and our lives become so busy. And really what fan of these cars wouldn't like to see a row of Mavericks and Comets parked together when most cars here in the North are parked for the Winter.
Here's the group shot for the MavCom breakfast. Dare i say it- a Grand Slam.
Our newest NRMCC member Comet Dave.
And as all good things do..... this one came to an end. Some pictures of the cars leaving and nobody made any smoke. See you next MavCom-Feb 2018.
A couple of us decided to do a little Autumn cruise to see the fall colours instead of going home and also to work off the Denny's breakfast (using our steering wheels). Gotta enjoy the fall colours and the last bit of driving before the snow flies.
We even saw jolly 'Ol Saint Nick along the way...... i think he was looking at the two Comets that just drove by..... or he was looking for Rudolph the red nosed reindeer who didn't come home after a night of drinking. Who knows?
Thank you Larry Winter for hosting the Fall MavCom breakfast and a special thank you to all that brought out their cars for the event. That's all folks....... see you at the next MavCom breakfast Spring 2018.
Pictures from our early spring (really winter) MavCom breakfast in Oakville on Sunday February 11, 2018. It was nice to once again see fellow Maverick Comet fans for a meal and to talk Mavericks and Comets. It's always good to get away from this endlessly lame winter, if only for awhile.
Here are the pictures.........enjoy.
We started our trip to Mo's family restaurant in an ultra rare Maverick F-150 custom pick-up. There are not many of these pick-ups around.
First order of business.........what to order for breakfast.
Our newest NRMCC member Dave getting a framed copy of the MavCom breakfast flyer in the finest dollar store frame we could find.
No Mavericks or Comets at this MavCom breakfast as the weather in Southern Ontario this time of the year is a crap storm. Once again, thanks to all who came out and see you at the next MavCom breakfast.
Here are the pictures of our early Summer MavCom Breakfast at Wimpy's diner in Mississauga on June 10, 2018. Thank you to all that attended the Early Summer MavCom Breakfast. We had 45 cars.......sorry 4 to 5 cars. A special thank you to all who brought out their cars to our event, it's you guys that make this something. Mavericks Comets friends food yeah, good stuff.
As always you need to get to the event and as we were driving to our MavCom breakfast we were followed by not one but two police cruisers. One was marked and one was a black unmarked cruiser. The black unmarked cruiser followed Comrick317's Comet for about a mile before passing our two Comet convoy and turning off. We did not get pulled over or hassled by the police but than of course we were doing the speed limit to the letter. The following pictures are from our breakfast and show and shine at Wimpy's Diner in Mississauga. Enjoy!
I love when all the cars start showing up and parking in a nice row.
But first, breakfast with the crew......... one Comet burger please!
Once breakfast was finished than came the cars and the war stories. A cool mix of Mavericks and Comets for our show and shine.
Some of these pictures make us think of the early days of the NRMCC than known as the NMCC. Comrick317 and Larry Winter were part of those early days as well as having their cars at those shows.
Dave's newly restored 1972 Comet once owned by Zac back in the day was debuted at our little MavCom breakfast complete with new GT stripes.
The groups shots, two so everyone can get in the pictures.
And the parting shots of everyone (including the peace office who kept an eye on our event) leaving with full stomachs.
And so ends another MavCom breakfast, see you at the next one, maybe in a neighborhood near you, either way......... bring out yer cars!
Thanks to the fellas today for bringing out your Mavericks to the Pop up NRMCC Maverick Comet breakfast at Wimpy's Diner in Mississauga. It was nice to see each other before the Christmas machine starts up.
And the trip to the NRMCC Pop up breakfast had to start somewhere and it did, in a leaf covered Comet mess. It can't all be pretty.
The cars at Wimpy's Diner, not to bad for November as most people have put away their rides for the winter. With our long winters we are in no rush.
J and Larry Winter. Glad to see Johnny Cash made it out to our breakfast. J and Comrick317 after a good sound breakfast.
I don't need to say anymore than what this sign says.
After our breakfast this is most likely our last mini meet before the..... snow.
And just like that, the boys were gone and our NRMCC car season was done.
Thanks to all that came out with their Mavericks and Comet. See you at the next MavCom breakfast and as always........Bring out yer cars!!!!!
Thanks to all that came out to the NRMCC Secret MavCom Christmas breakfast at Mo's Family Restaurant on Sunday December 9th, 2018. Word has it even a GTOOOOO owner came out too. :) See you all again on Jan 13th, 2019 for our massive New Years MavCom breakfast.
And a few pictures of our breakfast.
And than Christmas came to town........ :)
To all that come out to our MavCom breakfast.......thank you and have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!
Thank you to all that made it out to our NRMCC Maverick Comet lunch at Wimpy's Diner on January 13, 2019. Here are the picture's of this epic event.
Our journey to Wimpy's Diner started out snow free but halfway there a small blizzard suddenly appeared and then just like that as we arrived at Wimpy's Diner it was gone. Either way it didn't stop us from our mission......a MavCom lunch.
Ah yes, some cleaver NRMCC MavCom product placement.
A small but ravenous group, not a cheeseburger or fries survived our onslaught.
That was our most excellent NRMCC MavCom lunch at Wimpy's Diner. Thank you to all that came out and thank you Patrick Smith for spending some time with us Maverick Comet guys before you make the big trip down east to become a Lobster fisherman. See you all at the next Maverick Comet lunch / breakfast sometime in the barren month of frozen February.
