4th Annual NMCC Maverick Comet Meet and Greet. Sunday May 3, 2009. Kelsey's Milton Ontario.
For the 4th Annual NMCC Maverick Comet Meet and Greet we were once again at Kelsey's restaurant in Milton on Sunday May 3, 2009. We had a good turn out of 7 Mavericks and Comets on a somewhat overcast day. The sun did peek out every so often, all in all it was the perfect temperature for a show and shine in May. After we parked the cars we had a nice lunch at Kelsey's followed by some MavCom talk. It's always nice to break bread with Comet Maverick people. After lunch we checked out the cars, took some pictures and told a few stories. This year we had two 1/4 mile Mavericks for the Meet and Greet, 240Gordies Maverick which was at last years Meet and Greet and a very cool 1976 black and silver Maverick Stallion. You don't see many of these around let alone one used for racing. Also for the first time we had the best in show for our little gathering, i can't tell you who won so you need to look for youself. It was great to see everyone and their cars too.
The Meet and Greet and show and shine at Kelsey's restaurant.
After we had the Mavericks and Comets all lined up it was time to get some lunch. It was nice to see so many Maverick Comet fans in one place. :)
Once everyone had lunch and a few colas it was time to check out the Comets and Mavericks and tell some war stories. As usual i brought along my camera for a few pictures. Enjoy!
This years Meet and Greet featured two 1/4 mile race cars, 240Gordie's Maverick and this rare Maverick Stallion that was once the owners mothers car. It's nice to see this Stallion live on in such a fast manner.
New this year we decided to have the best of show for our Mavericks and Comets. We asked the staff from Kelsey's to decide first, second and third place. And the winner is..................
Jeff's stunning 1972 Comet GT. A most deserving car. He won this nice leather jacket (i think it was made of vinyl and cardboard, buts that's just my warped opinion) for getting first place. The jacket was supplied by the Daydreamer. A beautiful Comet Jeff!
I think this was a most excellent choice for our best of show in 2009!
Here is the group shots from our 4th Annual NMCC Maverick Comet Meet and Greet 2009.
Time to trailer the Mavericks that are not so road legal and bring them home.
Here is some more parting shots of these beautiful cars on their way home.
And as all good things have to come to an end......so did this Meet and Greet. Thanks to all who showed up and a special thank you to all who brought out their Mavericks and Comets. See you next year!
Coming to Hamilton in 2010.
