On July 18th, 2015 the King Comet Maverick Car Club did a Comet Maverick road trip to Beaverton Ontario followed by a classic car show featuring all makes and models of American classic cars. We had a nice Bar-B-Q and door prizes for the drivers. We started out with three Comets cruising along the back roads from Mississauga to Beaverton. We even had a Police escort for most of the road trip. The day was hot as hell and sunny without a cloud in the sky (o.k. maybe one cloud in the sky), perfect for cruising with the windows down and the tunes on. Our host for the event, Terry had a great set up for the car show complete with a nice Bar-B-Q and we got to see his 1966 Ford Fairlane from his racing past. He just finished his new garage and the Fairlane was coming back to it's new home. One of Beaverton's finest hung around our little classic car show to make sure that everyone behaved and no one made smoke. :) The fantastic weather made for a great day to do a road trip and car show. The Bar-B-Q was certainly a highlight and everyone got a drivers prize. A special thank you to our host Terry, a good time was had by all and i was glad to finally meet him and see his wicked Fairlane. Can't wait till next years cruise to Beaverton!
Our Comet Maverick Cruise to Beaverton started off in Mississauga at the local Tim Hortons. A coffee and a couple of Icecaps and we were ready for the road!
It was really something to see two 1968 Comets driving together in one place as they are rare as hen's teeth up here in Canada.

Making a pit stop for some ice to keep things cool.
Finally making it to Beaverton, time to park the Comets and enjoy the show.
Very cool to see the big Comets and the small Comets together in one place.
One of Beaverton's finest keeping an eye on things.
Here is Terry's wicked 1966 Ford Fairlane," Lunatic Fringe" coming home just in time to join the show.
And a little Bar-B-Q action, boy was it a hot day!

Once again i would like to thank Terry for hosting the car show at his place plus providing the fantastic Bar-B-Q and the drivers prizes. I for one can say that my kids and myself had a great time. See you next year!!
